Project Management Academy Launches Outsourcing Program

January 6th, 2010 by admin Leave a reply »

Project Management Academy has announced custom additions to its website to address project managers’ outsourcing challenges. The tough economy of the past year has forced managers to cut costs and streamline operations any way possible. “Project managers who had previously looked at outsourcing as taboo, now are scrambling to find creative ways to implement low cost solutions”, said director Pete O’Brien. PMA is including materials devoted entirely to those new to outsourcing. “If you haven’t outsourced before, it can be difficult to know where to begin” said Alpe Uretra, member of PMA. “Managers are asking, ‘what outsourcing company should I use’, and ‘will it be cost effective’”.

Project Management Academy hopes that this forum will help project managers discuss issues such as RUP and Agile Implementation, and come together to achieve best practices. Project managers from the Philippines and India, to Paraguay and Nepal visit Project Management Academy every day as an informational resource for project management knowledge. Mr. O’Brien believes that it would be beneficial to allow them all to pool their thoughts on challenging issues such as outsourcing.

“If you haven’t outsourced before, it can be difficult to know where to begin” Project Management Academy debuted in 2005 as a resource for information technology project managers. In the second half of 2010, PMA intends to expand its outsourcing reach to cover project management issues such as customer service outsourcing, call center management, and managing virtual assistants.
