IDG’s Computerworld announces Antares Management Solutions as a 2010 Best Places to Work in IT honoree for organizations that challenge their IT staff while providing great benefits and compensation.
“This is the fifth year in a row we have been so honored by Computerworld and this is especially significant to us because the input for this award came straight from our employees,” said Ken Sidon, president of Antares Management Solutions.
“I am very encouraged in these tough economic times, when so much is asked of our employees, that our staff recognizes and acknowledges our commitment to them.”
A division of Medical Mutual Services, this Strongsville, Ohio, company provides business process and information technology. Antares offers “Brown-bag” lunch sessions and work/life balance workshops, which address topics such as stress management, parenting skills and fundamentals of family communication.
The company also offers a tuition assistance program and pays for testing and job/area-of-expertise certifications.
Corporate training and development initiatives include on-site training, a project management program and computer-based training in areas such as desktop applications and programming languages. Antares offers flexible hours and part-time options, as well as telecommuting for remote staffers.
“To be among the Best Places to Work in IT, it’s not enough just to seek out and hire the most talented IT people, offer them competitive pay and provide great benefits,” said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of Computerworld.
“The organizations that made this year’s Best Places to Work list sustain a dynamic work environment in which IT professionals keep their hands on the latest technologies and work on projects that are business critical.”
Since 1994, Computerworld’s annual “Best Places to Work in IT” feature has ranked the top 100 work environments for technology professionals, based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention.
Honorees will be included in Computerworld’s coverage along with results from the 17th annual Best Places to Work in IT survey.
