How to free up your business ,outsourcing

July 29th, 2010

The amount of tasks that are a part of the smallest online campaign can be overwhelming sometimes. There seems to be no end in sight, and if anything that number seems to be constantly growing because the online marketing world is not stagnant. One possible solution to this is to outsource those things that require the most time to do. The main benefit from outsourcing is that you’ll create more time for yourself, your family, or your business. But just remember that doing all of that will require time and patience because it’s not something that’s overnight. Like many other things, the first time is the hardest because there is a learning curve and you’ll just be doing certain things the first time, so it will take longer. Given below are some workable outsourcing tips for your Internet marketing business.

What tasks you outsource is in some ways not that important, it’s the fact you have taken the steps. Sometimes you can get others to do simple tasks to free up your time, but often they will have skills or talents that you don’t have. I once spent ages posting awful adverts in Germany, using Google Translate and a german proxy, when I outsourced to a German student- both the quality and my returns shot up!

It will be very helpful to make a list of all your tasks, then refine that list to what you would like to see outsourced. Knowing what you want to outsource and how it works into your business will help you keep everything running smoothly. It may be helpful to make a comprehensive list so you can more easily see everything. Are you looking for a copywriter, web designer, or an SEO expert? But it’s cool because you can find someone to do whatever it is you need. Once you know what kind of professional you want to hire, you can visit freelance portals like Elance.com and Guru.com to find the people you need.

SEO is one of those subjects that is complex, and it will take some effort to manage it well. If you’ve done SEO, then you know – it’s tedious and boring with bookmarking, creating accounts, submissions of any kind, etc. If you’re not an expert in SEO, then it’s advisable that you outsource it to someone who knows how to do it.

This is one of those areas that a solid understanding is required. Hiring a professional to do your SEO can be a very wise choice if you don’t know how to do it, don’t want to learn how to do it, and they actually can deliver on their promises.

One of the major tasks that you can outsource for your Internet marketing business is the copywriting part.

There’s a ton more involved with copywriting than merely writing well. If you don’t have much experience in writing good copy, then you should outsource this task, since all your conversions depend on how effective your sales copy is. If you choose very carefully, you can realize excellent benefits from outsourcing your business needs. It’s not really the best use of your time to learn all there is to know and do, so then you can turn to outsourcing to qualified professionals who’ll do the job right for you. This kind of help will pay for itself if you can make your business profitable, or if it already is. Do your homework so you’re not paying too much, or too little. The more experience you get with outsourcing, the better you’ll be able to handle it.

Outsourcing tip,establish ownership

July 29th, 2010

When outsourcing projects like article writing to freelance writers who can apply for the job online in sites where you can post jobs, always make clear that any article they send to you automatically becomes your property and that they do not have the right to send that article over to other companies.

First make sure that when you post your job on the site, the words that should pop out is your ownership rights. Once you have established that little detail, you can now begin on the next step.

Some may ask why there is a need to establish ownership especially if the work is for a website? Well, the most obvious reason would be that other websites can lay claims to your articles or even blogs and they can say that you plagiarized your way through the system. This is what is to be avoided at all costs, a potential lawsuit which can cost your company a pretty penny and give your company a bad name.

So when and if you do hire an outsourcing company, make them agree on your terms, that whatever jobs you ask them to complete for you, you own the rights to that job and no other company can use it.The outsourcing companies will readily agree to these terms, of course, simply because if they do not, your company can malign their services and other companies can avoid them like the plague.

The agreement will actually set the relationship between your company and the service provider. They will have clear cut knowledge on how your company works and if your company pays well, then the relationship will flourish all the more.

Establishing ownership is not really a tough thing to agree on, and most of these service providers really do not care, as long as they know that they are giving your company good service, that you continue to pay for their services without delays and more, that you will renew the contract with them. Once this relationship is signed and sealed, rest assured that these service providers will seek means and ways to please your company and increase their chances of getting more clients based on your satisfaction alone.

Legal process outsourcing,the benefits

July 29th, 2010

Legal process outsourcing has been one of the recent developments in the law field. Legal outsourcing has been an attractive subject for most of the legal service providers keeping in mind the real cost benefits brought about by it. Some of the service forming a major part of legal outsourcing to India include trade mark services, patent support services, litigation support, legal research, due diligence support and document review.

It should be noted that the list is not an exhaustive one and depends upon the expertise of the LPO units. Some of the major issues going against legal process outsourcing to India include the breach of confidentiality of the clients. The experts different upon their views on legal outsourcing services, some believe it to be very beneficial for the long term benefit of the firm while some are of the opinion that it would heavily come down upon the employment generation of the home country.

Competition and cost effectiveness are the two major factors why Indian law firms have gained a lot of popularity in countries like United States and United Kingdom.

Legal firms can benefit from the legal outsourcing process in two models. According to the first model the firm will be acting as a middleman with the simple task of introducing clients to LPO India. Thus, doing this it will not only create a co ordeal relationship but would also have potential profitable ventures in future from the clients. It should be noted that in the first model the firm’s role would strictly be restricted to a middleman and it would not be receiving any direct payments from either of the parties. In the second model the firm would be actively involved in managing the relationship and workflow between respective clients and LPO India while receiving fee in return of such services.

Does outsourcing destroy IT innovation?

July 29th, 2010

Does Outsourcing Destroy IT Innovation? – Susan Cramm – Harvard Business Review: “Relying solely on external service providers for this expertise isn’t the answer. Even if our case study vendor knew everything listed above (and, believe me, they did not), vendors often don’t know how to be heard and are conflicted about the messages they should send in light of the fact that these messages could negatively impact their relationships and, potentially, their revenue.

Some researchers are questioning the value of broad-based outsourcing. Research on IT management practices within the banking industry found that top-performing companies outsource less, and those that outsource IT on a wholesale basis ‘struggle to use IT to drive value and have limited strategic flexibility as the business context evolves and hardware prices plummet.’

What do you think? Is it possible that large scale outsourcing not only limits strategic flexibility but also the capability to innovate with IT and therefore use IT as a strategic asset?”

HCL rides high on revenue

July 29th, 2010

Indian investors rewarded Thursday’s market-beating performance from HCL Technologies Ltd., the country’s fourth-largest information technology company by revenue, by pushing its shares up as much as 6.2% in morning trade to 396 rupees–their highest level in more than a month–despite a flat Mumbai stock market.

A 17.7% surge in revenue to 34.25 billion rupees ($737.6 million) helped HCL post a 3.6% year-on-year rise rise in consolidated net profit to 3.42 billion rupees ($73.6 million) for the three months from April to June — making it the latest among the nation’s top software services exporters to report strong revenue growth on the back of a rise in outsourcing orders.

A Dow Jones Newswires poll had forecast net profit to drop 8% and revenue to grow 12%. All numbers are based on US accounting standards.

Much of the optimism surrounding the results has to do with HCL’s 9.1% growth in dollar revenue, in constant currency terms, over the preceding quarter from January to March, which was better than larger peers Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Infosys Technologies Ltd. and Wipro Ltd.

That helped offset to some extent the sharp fall in HCL’s operating margins to 18.6% from 22.1% a year earlier, and from 19.7% in the preceding quarter, which was partly due to currency fluctuations.

Yet investors may be missing a key point here. While revenue growth for HCL has continued to be strong in the past few quarters, the company has struggled to achieve the same momentum in profits.

“Over the past four quarters, HCL Tech has added $131 million in revenues (cumulatively) but just approximately $3 million (cumulatively) in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization,” notes brokerage firm CLSA Asia Pacific. “This is a shocking gap, to say the least.”

HCL is also likely to see margins for the present quarter, from July to September, squeezed by wage hikes effective July 1, which would again limit profit growth.

And the situation in Europe still remains a concern.

“Europe is concerning and we cannot say it will not impact us. It is concerning not just for the economic conditions, it is because there is an austerity measure which is gaining ground in U.K., which is a significant part of our revenue base,” said Vineet Nayar, HCL’s chief executive, on Thursday.

Europe contributed about 25% of HCL’s revenue for the April to June period . Given these constraints, future gains for the stock may be limited.

Outsourcing services ,why it works

July 29th, 2010

Even though the procedure has been in existence since the thought of division of labor and work delegation emerged generations ago, the word ‘outsourcing’ was not applied until the 1980′s. This means the process of contracting the goods and/or hiring the help of another firm to perform certain activities or aspects of business. Thus, these organizations are generally known as third-party or service providers.

Since then, various bywords or branches of the outsourcing process came into the picture. There’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) which usually would take care of payroll services, compensation and benefits management, as well as other functions that aren’t a facet of the key business strategy. Another is (ITO) Information Technology Outsourcing also known as (ITES) IT-Enabled Services which usually specializes in IT related tasks, which includes software development and management, data center and screening procedures.

More spin-offs of the outsourcing solution would be the Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) and Business Transformation Outsourcing (BTO). The former involves solutions that require higher skills and abilities such as legal functions, research and development, and quality assurance; while the latter requires service providers that perform a portion in making more dynamic and flexible projects for the business.

Many more have been around in the past but they are being presented in a new way because of the outsourcing trend, such as Software R&D to build and enhance computer applications, and Marketing Outsourcing ex. advertising agencies to build up the company’s image.

The location of the service provider is also used to classify outsourcing. If your contractor is in the client’s own country, it can be called ‘onshore.’ For all outside the client’s country, they are referred to as ‘offshore’ except when it’s a neighboring country, it becomes ‘nearshore.’

The idea of outsourcing has plenty to do with expertise. Outsourced functions are usually those that aren’t critical or strategic to the business, for instance payroll or janitorial services. You will discover organizations who devote themselves to these kinds of services so you can be certain of sufficient and qualified personnel. Also, outsourced workers would generally mean less costs and headache than being done in-house.
