Algar, which also operates within Argentina and Chile, says that the decision to open the new center was partly based on the desire to contribute to the country’s socio-economic growth by utilizing local technology talent. With its service offerings spanning IT outsourcing, business process outsourcing, IT infrastructure services, hosting, collocation, systems development and integration, Algar are now looking to employ around 45 members of staff.

According to reports, another motivation behind the move may stem from an attempt by Algar to cash in on the growing demand for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) services in the Columbian corporate sector, although how they will undertake this strategy is so far unknown.
