New financial opportunities in Chile

May 6th, 2010

In order to take advantage of the telecommunications, outsourcing and financial sectors of Chile, Portuguese contact center solutions provider Altitude Software has begun plans to open an office in Chile by the end of 2010 or the start of 2011.

This news came from Altitude Software’s Latin America commercial director Luiz Terra in a recent interview. Altitude Software, which was founded in 1992, has approximately 800 active global clients, with 200 to 300 of those clients being in Latin America. Regionally, the company has offices in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, and operates through a regional partner network.

Before opening its new facilities in Chile, Altitude Software has plans to invest to expand and train its channel partner network in Chile.

According to Terra, the company already has clients for its telecommunications, outsourcing and financial sectors. However, Terra believes that the financial sector has underscored growth potential, specifically in the area of debt collection.

A severe problem for Chile’s collection sector has been its growth without the proper technological modernization, said Terra. This has led Altitude to see what it believes to be the starting point for its contact center investments, especially since companies have started to pay attention to customers’ demands for better service.

Because of the global economic crisis, the debt collection sector has grown significantly during the past two years, said Terra. However, the debt collections sector in general has not become more professional.

“There are plenty of collection contact centers that have grown a lot during the last two, three or four years, but have kept the same technology for the past five years,” said Terra.

Latin America represents Altitude Software’s largest and fastest growing geography in the world. This region is the most important element of Altitude Software’s overall strategy.

It is expected that Altitude Software will increase its revenues by 20 to 30 percent this year, a reflection of its growth rates in 2009 in countries like Brazil and Peru.
