Irish outsourcing company I.T. Alliance, which employs about 400 people, has won a number of export deals in continental Europe. The contracts, valued at €750,000, are for optimising and supporting two data centres in France and Denmark.
“Overseas revenues exceeded 50pc for the first time last month but to date most of this work has been in the UK. These wins represent an important expansion of our business into the rest of Europe,” commented Philip Maguire, CEO, I.T. Alliance. The company recorded revenues last year of about €20m.
Maguire said that Ireland remained a challenging market for IT companies.
“However, Ireland retains a strong reputation abroad for its technology skills and we believe that there is great potential for indigenous Irish consulting and IT companies to leverage this on export markets.”
Maguire forecast increased demand for the company’s data centre skills. “Virtualisation and the momentum of cloud computing is creating significant growth across the global data centre market. Benefits include greater efficiencies in terms of energy consumption, space, personnel, security and continuity.”
The European contracts were won through a new Tier 1 Alliance Partner. I.T. Alliance’s business model is based around the principle of being a trusted outsourcing partner to the world’s global outsourcing leaders or Tier 1 service providers.
The company has pioneered a Tier-Two Service Alliance (T2SA) outsourcing model which was developed in association with the Cranfield School of Management in the UK.
