There was no scheduled interviews for me today, and Mingming told me he left Beijing to meet his girlfriend. I got up early and wandered out of Tshinghua. Near the East Gate of the university sits a conglomeration of tall buildings, known together as the TUS Park.Those are estates of corperations, where, I thought Tshinghua alumni would enjoy some privileges, since TUS Park is named after Tshinghua. There is a statue of two bulls fighting each other head against head on the plaza between the buildings. The statue is dedicated to a renowned physicist, whose discovery is related to collisions of particles or atoms, I can’t remember exactly. A Chinese poem, with its poorly translated English version, was engraved on the black marble pedestal. The statue is created as an embodiment of both art and science, according to the poem.

I have been feeling very low, so I spent the whole morning doing nothing. It appears to me the whole world has been messing around with me. Many people about me hold this weird belief that if they treat me as if I were someone, then I would be able to understand that person or even become that person. I was asked questions like “What’s the difference between interface and abstract class in Java?” “Are you familiar with netstat?” etc. I couldn’t answer anyone of those questions. In the end, I asked the HR if they were willing to consider me for a post related to marketing / PR / HR etc. Her answer, however, was filled with inconsistency, she explained those positions need technical backgrounds as prerequisite. Then she introduced the company. She said the company in China started in 2007 and she had been working in the company since 2006.

The HR of the CGI company that interviewed me yesterday advised me not to go to companies where I can’t find the right people, but what if I can’t find the right people in each company that interviews me?

I noticed something funny on this gloomy day though. I actually needed to take the train to go to a place called Shangdi, whose Chinese pronounciation is the same as God. So when the train was approaching, I heard the broadcast saying: “The train to the God is coming. Please stand behind the yellow line.” That reminded me of Mingming’s advertising of buddhism to me. Mingming told me he is a communist party memeber, meaning that he should not believe in any religious belief. Yet he have kept trying to persuade me to take an interest in buddhism. Why does he advertise me something he himself is prohibited to believe in? Is he changing his own belief from communism to buddhism?
